Fashion Is My Religion

Religion and Fashion. Two forces that, when combined create an explosion of radness.
Since the 80's and now eclectic, dark, yet colorful and surreal examples of religion coming together with culture and fashion are seen on the runway. From crosses to Ganesh, this has to be one of my favorite trends of all time.

Fashion is our religion and the designers are our Gods. Let's worship on the runway.
Let's take a trip to a teenage, grunge version of India: Ashish Fall/Winter 2012

I love the irony of Muslim references in fashion as well.

Ethan James Is a Fashion God

One of the many perks of living in New York would be coincidentally sitting next to Ethan James on the subway and then shaking his beautiful hand.
That is exactly what happened to me today while I was on my way to an interview for a job.
So, luckily, I was dressed as impeccably as the stifiling (stifiling would be an understatement) heat and humidity would allow when we shook hands and I made an idiot of myself. I always think i'll play it cool and act like a normal human being when I meet people from the fashion world, but no, I usually go all fan girl on them and make an ass of myself. At least I looked cute....
Below is an editorial he did for Bullett magazine called, "I Was A Nothing"

Lady Gaga Launches New Fragrance, 'Fame'

This week leaked photos reavealed Lady Gaga's very first fragrance called, "Fame". But, the story gets better. Not only is the bottle and box black, the liquid inside is also said to be, black. That's right. Black.

The photo Gaga released on Twitter after the leaked photos. LOOK AT THE INGREDIENTS. It's like a witch's potion!

Gaga said, via Twitter, that, "My perfume was designed for women, but a lot of my gay friends wear it." when asked if the fragrance would be followed by a clogne.

This is where the story makes me yearn for a bottle ASAP.

Gaga also stated that here perfume smells, "like an expensive hooker" and "[Blood and semen] is in the perfume but it doesn't smell like it."

Wait, WHAT?

"You just get sort of the after feeling of sex from the semen and the blood is sort of primal. And the blood was taken from my own blood sample so it's like a sense of having me on your skin."

GIVE ME A BOTTLE NOW.

The fragrance will be available for purchase in September. (I'll be the one sleeping outside the department store until it opens in the morning.) Gaga will also announce the title of her next album in September.

I might die.

Greetings From A Teenage Alien

Lately i've been so afraid of getting older. I think about all the stupid things I never did in my teenage years and realize, they'll be over soon.

Anti-social, destructive, free, confused, angsty, radical, stupid, lovesick, alone, rebellious, spiteful.....sometimes I catch myself hoping that i'll never lose having these feelings at the kind of magnitude one experiences them as a teenager. Sure, most the time it sucks, but everyday is a day I can say, "I'll never be this young again, so bring it on."

And so, in spirit of being young and perserving the small yet signifigant, unique teenage years,

I present to you, The Guide On How To Be A Teenage Alien by me, A Teenage Alien.

Dye your hair various amounts of colors just to make a statement that you, are indeed rebellious and unpredictable.

Rejoice in the times when a stupid idea, seemed like the smartest thing to do.

Sneak out at least once or twice a week.

Obsess over something.

Deck out your room in the only way appropriate. That is, not appropriate at all.

Wear something slightly inappropriate to school just to spite everyone.

Have the most epic, teen love affair known to man kind. Love fiercely.

Party unil you can't.

Be completely shameless.

Eat whatever you want, whenever you want.

Pierce anything and everything.

A little vandalism never hurt.

Above all, be free. Be mentally, physically and spiritually free. Never again will you have the kind of relentless energy that comes with being a teenager and never again, will you ever be this young.
